I have axiom and axiom 25 in & out selected in prefrences and i pressed the dump button. One problem that has been bugging me, however, is that when I record midi parts every once in a while there will be a note that won't sound. When I press a key on the controller the square in the top right of ableton lights up, but that's it. Give that a try, then ctrl+M to bring up the big blue MIDI mapping mode, then see if it works? I just reformated my computer with windows 7 32-bit, i have ablton live lite 8. ableton recognizes the midi signals by flashing in the top right, but when I go into midi mapping mode and select something to be mapped then turn a knob on the controller, it does not map it. The track is armed and plays midi clips fine so I know the sound isn't the problem. You will see that this new MIDI mapping is now listed in the Mapping Browser.
